Puerto Princesa Underground River or Subterranean River National Park through Floral Travel and Tours

After our Ugong Rock Adventure and quick stop at Karst Mountain Elephant Cave, Floral Travel and Tours arranged our lunch buffet at Gusto Grill which was very delicious!

We booked and paid Floral Travel and Tours, two months prior our trip for 1,240 php/head.  Their service included our pick up from our hotel, taking us to Ugong Rock Adventures and Karst Mountain Elephant Cave as well us our lunch buffet at Gusto Grill.  Thus, we were spared from the hassle of obtaining a permit.

While waiting for our bought number to be called, I spotted the old Australian couple and had a chat with them. I found out that they were headed off for El Nido after their Underground River to meet their sons and daughters.  Our Spaniard tour mates where headed for El Nido the next day too.  I think we can deduce that a lot of tourists only pass by the Underground River and go for El Nido.

Our tour is already inclusive of the boat ride.  But if your doing DIY style, note that the minimum number of person per boat is 5 and the maximum is 8.  The rates are: 6 people - 700 php, 7 people - 800 php and 8 people - 900 php.  We were only four on the tour and four on the boat though.

Our boat number was called and we got on board.  We wore the compulsory life vests.

It was a short and windy boat ride to an island.  It had a scenic view.

While waiting for our both number, we just took our time with this scenic view.  Our companions felt like swimming but there's a big sign "No Swimming".

We were provided helmets and life vests and boarded when our boat number was called.  Again, we were only four passengers with two guides.

Our Spaniard companions were given the task of pointing the flash light.  While the tour guide shares some jokes and information about the rock formations.

You can use your imagination to appreciate the formations.

Once we reached the part with a cross mark, we headed back.

We Travel Tripsters had a fun and memorable experience. It's more of a scenic view rather than an adventure though.

Ugong Rock Adventures and Karst Mountain Elephant Cave in Puerto Princesa Palawan

Two months before our flight, we already books our Puerto Princesa Underground River Tour with Floral Travel and Tours.  We were told that we will be picked up at 6 am.  So we were already panicking when we were still at our hotel by 8 am.  At around 8:30 am, a van came to pick us up.  We also passed by another hotel to pick up two other guys from Spain.  When we arrived at the Permit Office of the Puerto Princesa Underground River Tour, it turns out that we don't have any permits yet.  Floral Travel and Tours requested that we have a ticket and we were granted but the time slot is for after lunch.

To kill some time, we were brought by our driver to Ugong Rock Adventures.  The two Spaniards were not up for it but we were.

We paid 200 php for the entrance and 250 php for the zipline per person.

We then headed to a hut were they check for blood pressure if you're old.

But, we skipped that part and we were given our gloves and helmet.

We were then oriented with a group.  But, this guy volunteered to tour us so we can leisurely take our time.  He explained that the Ugong Rock is a 75-foot limestone formation.  It is amidst the farmlands of Brgy, Tagabinet.  He explained that some rocks create different sounds.

This one sounded like a bell.

This formation reminded me of Sumaging and Lumiang Cave in Sagada but this is dry.

There is a very easy rappelling course.  There were a lots of staff to assist you so I didn't find it challenging at the very least.

Rock formations are entertaining like this boxing glove and then eagle.

This looked like a long-necked dinosaur.

And, this one to me looks like a raptor.

There were parts were we played and swang on vines too.

Once you reach the top, you have the option to climb back or zipline.

Of course, we ziplined because it was the easier way.  After that, we headed to Karst Mountain Elephant Cave.

We just made a short photo stop by Karst Mountain Elephant Cave.

Use your imagination and you're see somewhat of an elephant form.

Overall, for beginner searching for a little adventure, you might as well go for the Ugong Rock Adventures.  As for Karst Mountain Elephant Cave.... well only if you're passing by and you have the time.
